HOW IT ALL STARTED

Starting making clothes back in 2018… bought my own heat press machine & my momma bought my first vinyl/circuit cutter. She asked me what I wanted to do for that summer... first thing came to mind was selling candy, then I thought about making custom t shirts…I thought about brand names for like 3/4 weeks... came up with a name a few weeks later and named my brand Newave (New Wave) Clothing.. I gained my own knowledge by watching YouTube videos about how to do this and how to do that… I started doing custom t shirts…Graduation shirts, birthday shirts, custom Newave shirts, anything I could think of & It was fun. I still had Newave on my mind but I started getting a lil more busier once my people heard I know how to make shirts. Went to School, then band practice, then home to make shirts. I used to design shirts all in school…english teacher didn’t like when I came to class and hopped straight on my laptop and worked on my website… didn’t even I have my own laptop at the time so I used the school ones…
2019, I started Divrsn (Diversion) Make It Out.
I told my friend Henry I needed help with a name and he told me just take my time and think. I wanted my brand to mean something about making it out, coming from nothing & making it to the top, being motivational, & coming out of the hood and persevering the struggle. I search meanings for “making it out”. “Diversion” popped up, & it matched what I was looking for... asked ppl on their opinion on it and they liked it… so I ran with it and rebranded! Went from Newave clothing to Diversion Make It Out… In 2020, I sold my first Diversion Make It Out shirts at my graduation party… I invest almost $1,000 into my business… went through multiple colors of shirts, hoodies, hats, wristbands, and shorts… I was pushing my business from the ground up with no experience, no help, no advice… only inspiration… a few months later in 2020 I started college… in 2022 I realized that I couldn’t do both so I sat out one semester of school… a month or two later I recovered from my break and I’ve been up & running til this day!That’s my story about my journey of creating DIVRSN MAKE IT OUT.
